Saline Takes 2 of 3 at Monroe Volleyball Quad

Saline took two of three games at the Monroe volleyball quad Wednesday.

Saline defeated St. Mary Catholic Center and Dexter and lost to Monroe.

The Hornets opened with SMCC and won 25-16, 18-25 and 15-10. Madison Whitefield led the team with 7 kills and made no errors on 10 attempts. Brianna Woods had six kills and 21 assists. Whitfield and Woods each had six blocks and Olivia Vance had five. Emily Finkbeiner led the team with nine digs and 17 receptions. Mickaley Monahan had 11 service points and served three aces.

Saline defeated Dexter 25-15, 26-28 and 15-10. Whitfield had seven kills and four blocks. Woods had 16 assists, was in on six blocks and had four kills. Vance also had four kills. Finkbeiner had nine digs and Monahan added eight. Haley Blaney led the team with 12 points and served five aces. Finkbeiner also had 12 service points and twice aces. Woods served three aces.

Saline fell to Monroe 18-25 and 28-30. Vance, Kathryn Wilkie and Stephanie Fletcher each had four kills. Woods tallied 18 assists and had five digs.

Saline improved to 5-2-1.
