Jessi Larson led Saline to a first place finish at the Bret Clements Bath Invitational Saturday.
The varsity girls finished with 79 points – 13 better than second place DeWitt.
Larson finished the race in 18:23 – four seconds behind Grandville’s Madison Malon. Ericka VanderLende of Rockford won the race in 17:57.
Saline’s scoring five runners all finished in the top 21.
Kayla Fortino finished 17th in 19:37. Emma Cummings was 18th in 19:44. Rebecca Cantrell was 20th in 19:49. Ella Woehlke also figured into the scoring by finishing 21st in 19:55.
Nicole Dillman was 33rd in 20:26.
The junior varsity team ran in the Ramblin Rock Invitational at Willow Metropark in New Boston.
Saline’s fastest runner was Sarah Franko, who was 31st in 20:56. Also finishing in the scoring were Madeline Stuwart, 34th, 21:05; Jenna Allman, 38th, 21:13; Katelyn Szafranski, 45th, 21:30; Katherine Clark, 46th, 21:34; and Chloe Lange, 47th, 21:34.
Saline was third in the Ramblin JV race. Willow Habart was the fastest Hornet, finishing 16th in 22:47. Madison Caldewell, Tess Carichner, Brittney Tuck and Kaitlyn Schwartz accounted for Saline’s scoring. They all finished in the top 36.
