Saline's Dager Signs to Play College Soccer at Villanova

Saline senior Cathy Dager is joined by her parents, Christine and David, as she signs a letter of intent to play soccer at Villanova.

Senior Catherine Dager never suited up for the Lady Hornets soccer team, but she’s almost certainly the most sought after soccer player at Saline High School. Dager, daughter of David and Christine Dager, signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Villanova, in Villanova, Penn.

She played last year for the Michigan Hawks. Last summer, on July 9, she scored an overtime goal to win the Elite Clubs National League championship game.

Dager was recruited by several schools before choosing Villanova.

“I chose Villanova because it’s an awesome school for academics and because it has a great community atmosphere,” Dager said. “And I love all the players on the team.”

Dager plans to study environmental science.

Dager, a forward, is happy about achieving her goal of playing college soccer.

“It’s awesome. It’s always been something I dreamed about as a kid, so being able to do it is just a really cool opportunity,” Dager said.

While Dager doesn’t play soccer for Saline, she does competes in sprints and long jump for the Saline High School track and field team.
