WRESTLING: Saline Wins in the Battle in Bavaria

Saline's wrestling team won the Battle in Bavaria at Frankenmuth Saturday.

13 different Hornets placed - tallying 248 points in the team standings. Millington High School was second with 166.5.

Zach Sabin, 215 pounds, and Luke Hoyt, 140 pounds, won their brackets for the Hornets. Hoyt won a 9-7 decision over Millington's David Tebedo in the championship. Sabin defeated North Branch's Joe McNeil with a fall at 1:01 of his championship match.

Brent Marvin, 112 pounds, Brett Thornell, 119 pounds, Clayton Jarvey, 130 pounds and Noah Frush, 135 pounds, finished second for Saline.

Cade Gilless, 171 pounds, finished third.

Jacob Harbach, 285 pounds, Emaline Hicks, 103 pounds, Julius Burtell, 152 pounds,  and Blake Wilson, 160 pounds, finished fifth.

Ethan Malinczak, 125 pounds, and Adam Singer, 145 pounds, placed sixth.
