Kathleen Krone and Kristina Clarke were reappointed to the Saline District Library Board of Trustees for another two-year term during the Nov. 14 meeting of the Saline Area Schools Board of Education meeting. Their new terms will end Nov. 30, 2019. The school board's vote was 6-0 in favor of the reappointments (board president Tim Austin was not present at this meeting).

In other news from the Nov. 14 meeting of the board of education:

  • The board voted 6-0 to approve a resolution to impose a summer tax levy to collect all annual school property taxes
  • The board heard reports from the Board Policy Committee and the Board Finance Committee. Both items were for discussion only, and no vote was taken.
  • The board's consent agenda included approval of three field trips: Saline High School Science Olympiad trip to East Lansing April 27-29, 2018; SHS Science Olympiad trip to Centerville, Ohio Jan. 26-27, 2018; and SHS German trip to Chicago Dec. 15, 2017.
  • The board went into a closed session to discuss the superintendent's evaluation. The board will have one more closed session on the topic and then will make the results public in December.
  • The next meeting of the board of education will be 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28 in the Liberty School media center.
