Hornets Fall To River Rats on Seniors Night

The Lady Hornets came up short on senior night Tuesdayat Saline High School.

In a big SEC Red volleyball match, Huron defeated Saline 25-17, 24-26, 25-18 and 25-23.

""I have to give full credit tonight to Huron. They came into our gym for a very important conference match and outplayed us. They deserved to win. I feel bad for my players, I know they wanted to win on senior night, but this is one of those matches that we have to learn from," said Lisa Shea, coach of the Saline team.

Shea said the Hornets' ball control must improve if the team is going to achieve its goals this year.

"I know they want to be the best players that they can be, and they know that the coaches want to help them succeed.  Now we just have to come together and do it," Shea said.

Saline was led by Ani Agbagian's 12 kills. Margo Main tallied nine kills and seven blocks. Kara Rogers, Sidney Fletscher and Jess Wolma each had seven kills. Taylor Whitling had 39 assists and Natalie Sheridan had 26 digs.
