Ceronsky, Mother of Two, Worked More than 40 Years at Saline Reporter

Nancy S. Ceronsky, age 87, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Saline Evangelical Home, with her family by her side. Nancy was born on August 29, 1925 in Ann Arbor, MI, the only child of Harold and Susan (Ambrose) Finkbeiner.

On March 1, 1946 she married Raymond Ceronsky and he preceded her in death in 1985. She was a graduate of Ann Arbor High, class of 1943. Nancy and Raymond moved to Saline, MI, in 1951 and together they raised their family. Nancy was employed at the Saline Reporter Newspaper, starting her career in 1958 and retiring in 2000. The last several years of her employment, she worked from her home selling advertisements. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, the Saline American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, where she volunteered her time for many years in charge of mailing the monthly newsletter. She also was a member of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital (Saline) Auxiliary. Nancy enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, trips to Northern Michigan to visit her husband’s family, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was always present at school functions and sporting events. Grandma’s house was lovingly referred to as the “Hub” where family and friends gathered to meet. She also enjoyed regular coffee clutches with her daughter and granddaughters. Nancy was always willing to listen to her family with an open heart. She never met a stranger. She would listen with compassion to the life stories of people she had never met before.

Nancy was a devoted mother. She is survived by her son Harold (former daughter-in-law Nancy) Ceronsky, and a daughter Linda (Carl) Kimpel. Nancy was a proud, very loving and supportive grandmother to Jeff, Courtney, Jamie, Tony (Quinn) Ceronsky, Lindsay (Michael) Tupper, and Kevin Kimpel.
