A man who shot himself in front of a Hollywood Drive home Tuesday morning has died, according to Saline Police Chief Jerrod Hart.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the 400 block of Hollywood Drive for a reported shooting at approximately 7:30 a.m.
Hart said someone heard gunshots, saw the man in front of the home and called 911. The 74-year-old man was transported to University of Michigan Hospital for treatment. He was later removed from life support.
Hart said the man was staying at his daughter's home on Hollywood Drive.
"All evidence leads us to believe this was self-inflicted and there was no threat to public safety," Hart said.
