VIDEO: How to Access South Ann Arbor Street for Curbside Pickup or Parking
Think you can't drive up and get your morning coffee from Carrigan Cafe because of the South Ann Arbor Street closure? Think you can't park in from of the Excalibur and run in for a quick cut from Marty Flint?
Think again.
Saline City Council voted to close South Ann Arbor Street at Michigan Avenue until Oct. 31 to create a business recovery zone. Mac's Acadian Seafood Shack, Brecon Grille and Smokehouse 52 are using the closed roadway for tables because their indoor capacity has been slashed due to Gov. Whitmer's COVID-19 mitigation executive orders.
But the recovery zone only stretches southward just beyond the entrance to Carrigan Cafe. So there's still room for parking and curbside pickup on the street. There's also free parking in the lot directly across the street and the lot behind Carrigan's. Both are accessed from Henry Street
The Saline Post bicycled around the recovery zone Thursday. Here's what we found.
