Drake Drobnick, 67, Was a Leading Electrical Safety Expert in the Nation

Drake Alan Drobnick, age 67, died at home suddenly on Monday, September 17, 2018 after a long stay at the University of Michigan hospital for heart failure.

He was born on September 20, 1950 in Reading, Pennsylvania, the son of Albert and Mary Jane (Shunk) Drobnick.

Drake’s passion for electrical safety drove him to be a leading electrical safety expert throughout the nation. He sat on the board of the National Fire Protection Agency and helped write the NFPA 70E and IEEE standards. Drake was a former Safety Director at Ford/Visteon, Electrical Safety Consultant, and long-standing member of the United Auto Workers Union.

He is survived by his wife Gayle, son Bryce, as well as his grown daughter Jennie, her husband Kyle and their son Landon, and son Joshua.
