The Saline Community Fair is looking for volunteers to assist with various activities prior to and during the 83rd annual fair. It takes many people to make this all volunteer fair run smoothly and to make sure a variety of activities are offered to the fairgoers. Several new things will be held during this year’s fair and the fairboard is hoping that additional community members will want to be involved and help with some of the programs. The fair will be held August 29 - September 3 at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Road, Ann Arbor.
Volunteer opportunities and contact information are listed on the Saline Fair website at www.salinefair.org or information can be obtained by contacting Cindy Radak at 734-649-7814. Opportunities range from helping in the fair office to helping with the Farmer for a Day area to helping with various events and providing general fair assistance. So why not consider volunteering and even bring a friend along with you to help out also. All volunteers will receive a fair admission pass.
The Saline Community Fair book is available at businesses throughout Saline and neighboring communities. It is also on the website. Be sure to check out the many classes that are available to exhibit items in and the contests that are open to anyone interested, as well as the week’s activities. August 20 is also the deadline to pre-register for competing for the Homemaker Award or the Jr. Homemaker Award. Complete details are in the fair book.
