June 1-30. Help support the needs of our community! Please bring non-perishable, non-expired items to the Library throughout the month of June for Saline Area Social Services. If you have any fines, you will receive $1 off for each item donated, up to $5 total.
GROWING SPROUTS & MICROGREENS INDOORS
Sunday, June 4, 2-4 pm. Microgreens are tiny but packed with flavor, color, and nutrition. Learn how to grow, care for, and harvest microgreens indoors all year long with Jason Gold of the Michigan Folk School. You will also receive a brief introduction to using them, growing equipment, seeds, soil medium and a variety of handouts. Limit 25 participants; registration required.

Monday, June 5. In-person registration begins for K-1 Fun: Ninja Fun for students entering Kindergarten & Grade 1. Choose to register for 11-noon or 2-3 pm on June 22. DIY CHOCOLATE BARS ON A BUDGET
Wednesday, June 7, 7-8 pm. Even if you are on a budget you can still enjoy one of life’s greatest pleasures—chocolate! Pastry Chef Laura Rowe will demonstrate how to make high quality chocolate bars for half the cost of expensive chocolate. She will also provide samples to taste and tips on where to purchase bulk chocolate, molds, and wrappers. Registration requested.
PASSPORT TO THE WORLD OF BOOKS
Saturday, June 10, 10 am - 2 pm. Take a tour of Saline and explore the world through reading! Visit any of 11 Little Free Libraries around the community, pick up a Passport to the World of Books, get it stamped along the way at 5 or more sites, and enter a drawing to win great prizes.
The 11 libraries of the tour are: Saline Recreation Center, McNaughton & Gunn, Community Gardens by Weber-Blaess School House, Liberty School, Brecon Park, Saline City Hall, First Presbyterian Church Garden, Pleasant Ridge Elementary School, Risdon Park, Mill Pond Park, as well as the Corner Book Shop at the Saline District Library.
