For nine years now, Holy Faith Church on Ann Arbor-Saline Road has been growing fresh, healthy vegetables for Saline Area Social Services.
This week SASS Director Jamail Aikens visited Holy Faith to see its Seeds of Hope Garden first hand. The vegetable plot, only measuring 20 x 40 feet, is carefully tended throughout the season. When one crop is harvested, another crop is immediately sown. Using this efficient method, the small garden produces over 500 lbs of vegetables per season for our neighbors in need. The first harvest of cabbages, onions and tomatoes is already in and the garden team will harvest carrots, potatoes, green beans, cucumbers and peppers through Fall.
Holy Faith is grateful to provide this service to our neighbors and thanks Saline Area Social Services for their important community support.
