Kids' Fishing Contest Saturday at Mill Pond Park

Children are invited to participate in the Saline Summerfest Youth Fishing Contest at Mill pond Park Saturday Aug. 13.

The contest is open to children in three age groups – ages 6 and under, 7-10 and 11-14. The contest begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded to the kids in each age group who catch the most fish and biggest fish.

Participants must reel in their own fish, but can have help casting. In order to qualify for prizes youngsters must fish for the entire two-hour contest. All fish must be released after counting and measuring.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. All fishing must be done from shore.

Kids should bring their own fishing pole and hooks. Worms will be provided by the event sponsor, the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latterday Saints. The prizes were donated by Cabela’s.
