The 2018 Saline Community Fair is just over 4 months away, so now is a great time to work on exhibits you may want to enter at the fair, and put the fair dates of August 29 to September 3 on your calendar. The Boys and Girls Pet Show and Bicycle Decorating, as well as the annual fair parade will take place the evening before the fair officially opens, on Tuesday, August 28 at Henne Field. All other fair events are held at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 Ann Arbor Saline Road, Ann Arbor. Exhibits will be entered on August 27 and 28 and there are over a thousand classes that can be entered ranging from photography to foods to flowers and vegetables, just to mention a few of the categories. The fair book which lists every class and details for exhibiting will be available from local businesses after July 15 and on the fair website at www.salinefair.org. Several new events will be featured this year, including live pony rides, drag racing in front of the grandstand, and two evenings of a foam dance party designed for tweens and teens. Other favorite events like tractor and truck pulls, the rodeo and the auto cross enduro derby are also scheduled for the grandstand. Watch for the fair schedule on the website and like the fair on facebook at Saline Community Fair.
