Hello friends and readers,
I'm equal parts happy and grateful to report The Saline Post has cleared its level one fundraising goal of $1,000/month -- which is what I needed to continue operating the website and reporting the news. As of 11:06 p.m., your donations are funding us to the tune of $1,295 a month.
I'll be honest. At this point, I'd like to stop providing updates and call it a day. The community support has already exceeded my expectations. But I said I'd do it for a week, so I'll stick to it, because if even if another $50/month comes in, that's $50 that can be used to provide more news and information for the community.
I want to once again thank donors to The Saline Post. I hope I've already expressed by gratitude well enough. Even when operating The Saline Post is work, and at times it can feel like pushing a rock up a mountain, it doesn't feel like a job. This is how I enjoy spending my days.
But I want to thank donors and advertisers, not for me, but for the other readers in the community who might not come here often. Who only know our Facebook Page. Who think we're Saline Patch or The Saline Reporter. Who just don't wish to pay for news on the Internet. Your support keeps me from having to put up a paywall. Your support keeps news freely available to anyone on the Internet (unless you're visiting Russia, which is IP blocked due to insane levels of spamming).
Your support helps make people a little more aware about what's going on in their community.
Thank you once again,
The Saline Post
