Recently, The Saline Post was approached by a local married couple who want to help our community survive the COVID-19 challenge.

Here's what they've done so far:

  • Ordered 100 sandwiches from Brewed Awakenings for Saline Area Social Service.
  • Ordered sandwiches from the Cheese Shop of Saline for Saline Area Social Service.
  • Ordered dozens of gift cards from Mark's Midtown Coney for Saline Area Social Service.
  • Ordered cookie-making kits from Benny's for Saline Area Social Service and the SOS community center in Ypsilanti.
  • Ordered thousands of dollars in pet food from the Saline pet stores and donated some to Saline Area Social Service, the Humane Society of Huron Valley and Pet Pantry.
  • Ordered gift cards from Chela's.
  • Ordered cookies from Enchanted Oven for residents of Brecon Village.
  • Donated to the Quilting Season Go Fund Me and Earth Elements.
  • Ordered 100 sandwiches from Carrigan Cafe for SASS.
  • Ordered gift cards for the staff at Mac's Acadian Seafood Shack.

Donated to the Saline Main Street tip jar to help laid-off staff in downtown Saline.

Their donations are not only helping those in need at Saline Area Social Service and other agencies, they are helping keep local small businesses afloat.

And they want more ideas. So share your ideas. Post them on our social media pages, in Saline Posts, or email them to me at [email protected].

And, if there any Saline area residents with the means to help, connect with us and we'll put you in touch with Team Saline.
