Presented by Dr. Elizabeth M. Greene and the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, this free, public lecture explores the incredible assemblage of organic materials (including almost 5,000 leather shoes) uncovered at the site of Vindolanda on the northern frontier of Britain. This talk will present current work on archaeological leather at the ancient Roman site before discussing how climate change affects this valuable material—and the steps researchers are taking to assess and address it.

Light freezing rain, with a high of 32 and low of 28 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Light freezing rain during the morning, overcast in the afternoon, clear overnight.
Invest in the Davenport house and save the city some money.Â
Congratulations to you Ms.Cole! Â Very well deserved.
Saline City Council railroaded you out while you were doing an excellent job. Saline’s loss thanks to Mayor Marl’s manipulations and his divisive and dysfunctional council.Â
Glad to see she has landed somewhere. Time shall tell whether this is or is not a positive for Chelsea.
Why is there such a revolving door at city hall?
Why is this not up for public vote???
This is undoubtedly the most absurd thing that dysfunctional Marl and Council have ever proposed.Â
STAND UP SALINE!
Another loss for the citizens if they spend this money
Would love to see the land and structure preserved. That said, Saline has other priorities and it is difficult to support expenditure for both purchase and ongoing maintenance. If the City wants to preserve this landmark, other outside funding sources need to be identified and leveraged.
Everyone loves the beginning.
