Want to give yourself the gift of a garden pick-me-up in the dead of winter? A pop of color, spring fragrance, and a little reminder of what’s to come once the snow melts? Curious

Beginners can easily do this with just some space in your refrigerator’s crisper drawer and a little planning. This talk will help you learn about the magic of spring bulbs, identify the varieties that tolerate forcing the best, give you some guidance on cold temperature requirements as well as tips to keep it all as simple and easy as possible. We won’t just talk about it, for those who want to participate, we’ll get to play in the dirt together and maybe even get some dirt under our nails in this session as we pot up a planter to take home and chill.

Presenter: Sarah Pflug is a Stone & Thistle Garden Club member, long-time gardener, and enthusiastic experimenter with forced spring bulbs. Over the past 15 years, she has tested simple, practical ways to bring an early taste of spring indoors each winter.
