Mayor Brian Marl, the Saline City Council, and the City of Saline today invited community veterans and active-duty military personnel, along with their families, to a reception and recognition in honor of Veterans Day.
“It’s so important to recognize our veterans for the sacrifices they made for our country,” said Mayor Marl. “In the spirit of nurturing a sense of community, it’s an honor to call out those who have served, or are serving, for their selfless contributions to our area, and also to our nation.”
Veterans and their families are welcome to attend the reception immediately preceding the City Council meeting, and a brief ceremony honoring Saline’s present will occur at the beginning of the meeting.
“The Saline area has a strong tradition of recognizing those who served a cause greater than themselves,” said the Mayor. “In that spirit, I’m proud to continue the tradition and help to organize the third such event to honor our veterans.”
The reception will be held Monday, November 14 at 7 p.m., and the City Council meeting will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. Both will be held in Council Chambers at City Hall, 100 North Harris Street. Refreshments will be provided.
