The holiday season is upon us.

Here's a look at some of the holiday-themed events around Saline this weekend.

  • Happy Pawlidays - Pet Photos with Santa. 9 a.m., Mill Pond Park. Free! Bring your pet for a free photo with Santa in this event sponsored by Saline Rec. No registration. Just show up!
  • Treasure Trail to Santa. 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Busch's Shopping Plaza. Visit the local businesses for goodies. The trail leads to Santa, where you can take pictures. Carriage rides in the parking lot.
  • Thank Our Troops Holiday Writing. 10 a.m. Saturday. Carrigan Cafe.  Help write holiday cards that will be stuffed into holiday stockings for soldiers.
  • Pet Photos with Santa. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Pets-N-Things, 541 E. Michigan Ave. Bring your kids and pets for pictures with Santa. Photos are $15 per sheet.
  • Rentschler Farm Museum Christmas - 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, 1265 E. Michigan Ave. Enjoy a glimpse into Christmas on a 1930's era farm. The farmhouse will be decorated for the holidays, with vintage toys and craft demonstrations. Santa will also be in one of the barns.
  • Open Mic Night at Brewed Awakenings Cafe. 6-9 p.m., Saturday. Join the Saline High School choir for a night of yuletide music by the fireside. 20 percent of food and drink sales will be donated to the ChadTough Foundation.
  • The Nutcracker. 7 p.m., Saturday. Saline High School. Dance Alliance presents The Nutcracker.


  • Christmas on the Rentschler Farm, 1-4 p.m., Sunday, 1265 E. Michigan Avenue. Another opportunity to experience Christmas how it was on a 1930s era farm. Mrs. Claus will also be on hand to read to children at 1:15 p.m., 2 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • Family Movie Day. 2 p.m., Saline District Library. It's a free showing of A Christmas Story at the library. Snacks and drinks provided. Bring your own blankets and pillows.

  • Saline New Horizons Concert. 3 p.m., Sunday, First United Methodist Church. A free holiday concert.
