Payeur, at 27, is the oldest of three firefighters recently hired by the Saline Area Fire Department. He’s also the most experienced. The 2006 Saline High School graduate has been a paid on-call firefighter with the department for nearly seven years. He’s also filled in for extended periods while firefighters were out with injuries. Still, while Payeur believes his experience is an asset, he’s not taking anything for granted.

An integral part of the Saline community for decades, Dr. Terry Timm, announced that he is currently working with Dr. Nicole Teifer, at Today's Orthodontics, with locations in Novi and Canton.

After more than two decades, Saline may be about to get its own hotel. In a special work session Monday night, Saline City Council members heard a proposal from hotel manager Mark Kuykendall, Ace Hardware store owner, James Junga and builder Jim Haeussler to construct a new hotel and an enlarged hardware store on property across the road from Rentschler Farm.

The Former Miss Saline Association seeks outstanding young Saline women to participate in the Miss Saline Pageant. The pageant takes place Aug. 31 at the Saline Community Fair in the Washtenaw County Farm Council Grounds.
