The 12U Saline Hornet team, recent champions of the USSSA AA State Tournament, has been selected to play in the Cooperstown Dreams Park and American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament during the week of July 16 - 22 in Cooperstown, NY.  In addition to competing against teams from around the country, members of the 12U Saline team will be enshrined in the prestigious American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame. The team is coached by Andy Gottfried.

Each year, the participants of the Cooperstown Dreams Park National Invitational Tournament are inducted into the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame. Much like the National Baseball Hall of Fame for major league baseball players, each participant, upon induction, receives the coveted American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Ring and officially becomes one of the Cooperstown Dreams Park Little Majors. The studio photo of each player with his teammates is affixed to the Commemorative Induction Plaque for future enshrinement on the walls of the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.

“The Cooperstown experience for these young men will provide memories for a lifetime. I am privileged to represent them as a Saline youth baseball coach. Over the years we have encouraged the players to uphold the Saline Pride we have known to be true to this community... with dignity, athleticism, graciousness and modesty. We plan to have fun, play competitive baseball and grow stronger as a team while representing Saline,” said Gottfried.
