Swatting is being blamed for tense moments at 6 Trails Apartments tonight.

Shortly before 8 a.m., Metro Dispatch took a call suggesting that a shooter shot his mom and that he wanted to kill himself and his sister in an apartment on the 700 block of Valley Circle Drive. That call came across the scanner at 7:57 p.m. A minute later, the dispatcher said the call came in on a non-emergency line and that the call could be a possible swatting call. Swatting is a form of harassment that forces dispatchers to send police to a home or location.

Police arrived on the scene and began canvassing the neighborhood and investigating.

Around 8:35 p.m., police made contact with a woman who lived in the apartment in question.  At 8:38 p.m., police inspected the apartment and found nothing suspicious. Saline Police were released from a channel dedicated to related radio traffic at 8:44 p.m.
