Saline City Council approved 11 students as members of the Saline Youth Council.
Jody Roberts, the city's advisor for the council, said that there are eight returning members and three new members.
Returning are seniors Jack Geiger, Alli Issa, Dowan Kim, Rohan Kulharni, Emily Lance, Hannah Treber and Olivia Wash as well as sophomore Victoria Saxton. New comers are junior Austin Bellinger and sophomores Jillian Hoyt and Melinda McCabe.
In a memo to council, Roberts said two vacancies remain. Members of the council recruiting to fill the vacancy.
Roberts said it’s a good group.
“This group of teens represents the community well in ambition, interests, and diversity. Their common goal is to volunteer throughout SASD to make it a better place for tweens and teens,” Roberts wrote. “I am very proud of every SYC member and applaud their dedication to the City of Saline. It is my good fortune to serve as the advisor of this outstanding commission.”
