Michael Robert Bertsch, age 51 of Saline, Michigan played his final act on Saturday, August 8, 2020 with his family by his side.
Mike was born on January 16, 1969 in Ann Arbor, MI. Mike was an active musician with a love for guitars. He also enjoyed cars, motorcycles, and Detroit Lions football. Mike worked in the automotive industry and volunteered with the Humane Society of Michigan.
He is survived by his parents Sara Bertsch of Saline, Michigan, Robert (Jan) Bertsch of Willis, Michigan, his brother Matthew Bertsch, and sisters Amanda Bertsch and Alicia Bertsch.
Friends are invited to celebrate Mike's life with his family on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline, Michigan. Visitors will be asked to adhere to the social distancing restrictions and masks will be required. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Michigan Humane Society online https://www.michiganhumane.org/ or envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

I have to commend the Saline City manager and engineer for keeping their cool and for their professionalism during the three hour Mill Pond Dam town hall meeting.
I think what's insulting is that the city is bloating the numbers to bolster their case.
Logically, the dam has no practical use. Of course, it's going to cost more. Of course, there's a level of risk there. Of course, over some period of time, it's going to cost more to maintain than a stream.
Life cycle cost analysis is certainly appropriate when considering new assets, but it may not be as appropriate when evaluating existing assets.
