Taybor Pepper Signs With the Dolphins, Saline Football Alum Busy

Taybor Pepper, a member of the Saline High School class of 2012, is expected to play Sunday for the Miami Dolphins. Pepper, a long snapper, played four games for the Green Bay Packers in 2017 before suffering broken foot in campus, had spent camp with the New York Giants trying to unseat 13-year veteran Zac DeOssie. But Pepper, the son of Cam and Donna, was waived over the weekend. Monday, he was signed by the Dolphins to replace 14-year veteran John Denney, who was released.

Pepper, listed at 6’4 and 245 pounds, was a four-year starter at Michigan State University after graduating from Saline.

Pepper isn’t the only recent Saline football alumni making waves.

• Josh Jackson, a junior, is QB at Maryland. In his Maryland debut, he completed 15 of 24 passes for 245 yards and four TDs in Maryland’s 79-0 win.
• Tyler Palka finished a stellar career at Gannon University. He tried out for Ottawa in the Canadian Football League. He came back to the U.S. and played for Columbus in the Arena Football League. Now he’s entered the draft pool for the new XFL. The draft is in October. Palka is an assistant coach for the Saline football team.
• Ryan Tice kicked a 50-yard field goal for Central Michigan University against Albany. He went 4-for-4 on extra-point kicks.
• Bryce Wolma is a junior tight end at Arizona. He caught a 14-yard TD pass in week one at Hawaii. He has 34 catches and three TD catches in 26 games.
• MJ Griffin is a freshman safety at Temple.
• Emmett Turner is at Johns Hopkins. As a freshman, the tight end caught 23 passes for 250 yards and a touchdown.
• James (JT) Turner is a freshman kicker for Louisville.
• Jeb Palka is a sophomore WR for Walsh University. He caught five passes for 45 yards as a freshman in nine games.
• Adonis Gammo is a freshman DL for Olivet College.
• Zach Drevno is a sophomore snapper for Vanderbilt.
• Zarek Bratschi is a sophomore on the OL at Oberlin. He playd in 10 games as a freshman.
• Trevor Garbo is a sophomore on the DL at Taylor University. He had 2.5 tackles as a freshman.
• Alex Lampman is a sophomore on the OL at Indiana Wesleyan University.
• Jake Zambeck is a junior wide receiver at Alma College.
• Caleb Rufener is a junior on the OL at Indiana Wesleyan University.
• Jonah Ashby is a freshman on the DL at Indiana Wesleyan University.
• Vinnie Patteri is on the Eastern Michigan University roster as punter.
• Robbie Felton, a junior at Brown University, played in five games as a sophomore.  He’s class president.
• J Drew McGovern is QB at North Park University. As a freshman he completed 10 of 20 passes for 162 yards and two TDs.
