Scenes from Friday at the Saline Celtic Festival
The 18th Annual Saline Celtic Festival is underway.
Friday was highlighted by the crowing of Ryan Driskell as Mr. Pretty Legs and performances by the Tartan Terrors and Brother.
Driskell, a resident of Saline, placed first in the competition. Judges ranked the candidates on the basis of leg appeal, knee quality, stage presence and audience appeal. Ann Arbor's Michael Martin showed great promise with his second place finish in his first visit to the Celtic Festival. Howell's Eric Miller placed a strong third
Driskell said he was honored to receive the crown, sash and walking stick from fellow Salinian Leo Babcock, the all-time leader in victories in the contest.
"Leo is a legend," Driskell remarked.
