Highlights of the day include:

For those unable to attend in person, registration as a Virtual 5K participant offers another way to be part of the event and support the cause. Virtual participants receive an event shirt and are encouraged to share photos on social media using #RunTough throughout September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

More Than Just a Race
RunTough began in 2014 as a way to rally around 5-year-old Chad Carr during his battle with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) — the most aggressive form of childhood brain cancer. Held each year on the weekend of what would have been Chad’s birthday, the event has grown into a tradition of remembrance and hope.

In the years since, RunTough has raised millions of dollars for research through the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation, co-founded by Chad’s parents, Jason and Tammi Carr. The event continues to honor Chad’s legacy while fueling progress toward the day when children diagnosed with DIPG will finally have more treatment options.

“RunTough is about community, hope, and honoring Chad’s legacy. Every year, we are humbled to see families, friends, and neighbors come together, not only to remember our little boy, but to help other children who are fighting the same battle,” said Tammi. “The love and support this event represents gives us the strength to keep pushing forward toward a cure.”
