Healthy, vibrant neighborhoods are one of the greatest assets to our community. You work hard to take care of your home and your yard, which protects the value of your property and helps to maintain a high quality of life in Pittsfield Township. Stormwater systems are also part of our neighborhoods and another key component to the quality of life in our community. The way we take care of our stormwater is just as important as the way we take care of our homes as that water will end up in our streams, rivers, lakes, and even in our drinking water.

Stormwater Management in Michigan occurs at the local level. Local governments create the rules and standards that regulate the way we must deal with our stormwater. The streams, storm drains, and detention basins that are part of your neighborhood are all part of a stormwater management system. Neighborhood and Homeowners’ Associations are responsible to maintain these systems. However, many are not given the proper tools and knowledge to even know where to begin.

Pittsfield Charter Township is pleased to announce an Educational Seminar in cooperation with specialists from the Office of Washtenaw County’s Water Resources Commissioner to educate neighborhood leaders about Stormwater System Maintenance. This program is scheduled for Thursday April 27th, 2023 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pittsfield Charter Township Administration Building, 6201 W. Michigan Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48108. While its not required, you may RSVP by Thursday, April 20th, 2023 so that the presenters may prepare the requisite materials.
