Salt Valley Arts Open House, Sunday, September 10 from 2-4 pm at their studio space in EHM Senior Solutions Professional Building, Entrance A, 400 W. Russell St, Saline.Bring a friend or two and see what we have been up to over the last year. It is time to be almost done in your garden and time to get back to your studio, or perhaps making things for the upcoming holiday season. Our Cake Eaters group still meets on Friday morning where conversation is the main ingredient, but also a time to bring whatever you are working on to share with the group. We also have groups meeting to specialize on all types of Fiber Arts, a group who is inspired by Nature, and a Writer’s group. Plus, we have our Community Service group which has made mittens to benefit Saline Social Service and they will soon be making fidget mats for those with memory issues and special needs. What other groups would you like to see so that you can share your work with others while you are in the creative process? Jewelry? Water colors? Painting? Pastels? Paper? Collaging? Altered books/Junk Journaling? The ideas are limitless and will let you get together with your “tribe” during the creative process.Although we no longer offer specific classes, many of the groups have used their meeting time for demonstrations and participation in learning new techniques. We are always looking for those willing to share what they know with their group. At this Open House we will also be introducing our latest “Challenge”. For those who remember all of the 212 Challenges, this is our take. Cathy Cieglo’s late mother was a prolific limerick writer and she has shared her wonderful collection with us. Many of us were immediately inspired to create by her images. Although we are starting now, these will not be “due” until after the first of next year.We hope you and your friends will join us and learn about what a hidden treasure Salt valley Arts is in the community. We are there to support the creative process and make sure you realize there are others out there doing similar work on whom you can lean and from whom you can learn and share.

Nice idea. Thank you to the kids who support this. Seems a bit of diversity in the make-up of the kids leading the group would go a long way to making "everyone" feel welcome. Sadly, not seeing it, at least in what is presented here.
Awful, racist perspective. There is nothing wrong with the "make-up" of these four kids.
Sunny, with a high of 67 and low of 31 degrees. Sunny for the morning, clear overnight.
As we noticed the rapid deterioration and indentation of the road from all of this truck traffic, which presumably will only get worse as the weather and road surface gets warmer, we have wondered just who is responsible for the cost to repair/replace these roads?
Did anyone ask the nearby residents if they want a party palace in their neighborhood? Traffic, parking, crowds, trash, noise: was any of this considered when making this decision?
The organizers are required to submit an application to the City of Saline for this event. If you wish to provide input, comments can be sent to the City Clerk or made in person at anytime or more specifically when their application appears on the council agenda.
So the senior citizens and the kids that decided not to go to work are doing what? Protesting what? Are they updet that KAMALA was REJECTED? Then let them have FREE CHEESE.
You are so easily triggered you ancient snowflake. Calm down. Get off the internet, stop listening to podcasts. Go touch grass. Your king lied to you, that’s very obvious at this point. Now, you just seem to be lying to yourself.
Tom you sound like your disillusioned by the liberal media are you admiting that your "wrong" I sense anger in your statement? What is it that you are AFRAID of? Is VOTE ID against your parties wish LIST?
Enjoy the senior parade!
In 1845 there was a flour mill, a dam and tailrace . It was placed on the National Historic Register as Schuyler Mills Historic District. This 13-acre historic district is now a well known landmark representing an era we will never see again..
