Saline Police Catch 3 Young Men Breaking Into Vehicles
Saline Police caught three young men in the act of breaking into vehicles on Berkshire Drive early this morning (July 25).
About 1 a.m., police were dispatched to the area after a resident saw suspicious activity in the street. An officer observed three young men breaking into a vehicle and stealing an item. The men were breaking into unlocked vehicles, according to police.
The men ranged from 17 to 19 years old and were from Saline. Two of the men are on probation.
Saline Police detective Don Lupi said the files have been turned over to a probation officer. Police are seeking charges of larceny from a vehicle from the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office.
Lupi reminded residents to take care of their belongings.
“Thefts from vehicles are crimes of opportunities. Don’t leave valuable things visible in your vehicle, and be sure to lock your doors,” Lupi said.
