Sibo, Randazzo Pull Petitions for Saline City Council
The field is beginning to crowd for the November 2013 Saline City Council election.
On Wednesday, Terri Sibo and Sal Randazzo pulled nomination petitions with the intention of running for office. So far, Sibo and Randazzo are the only candidates who’ve pulled nominating petitions from the city clerk’s office, according to Interim Clerk Aimee Rutledge. The three incumbents, Linda TerHaar, Jim Peters and Jim Roth, were also given nominating petitions. Of the three, TerHaar is the only one who has confirmed the intention to seek re-election. Their terms expire at the end of 2013.
Sibo and Randazzo are well known in the community. Sibo served on city council in 2005. She is known to many for he volunteering she does with local events, such as Harvest of the Arts. Randazzo served on the city’s parks commission. He’s well known for being outspoken with his libertarian viewpoint.
Candidates must submit nominating petitions and other qualifying documents to the city clerk’s office by 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6. Petitions are available at city hall, located at 100 N. Harris St.
