White's 76 Helps Saline Golfers Take 7th at State Finals
Saline saved its best for last, dropping 12 strokes on the second day of the MHSAA Division 1 finals at Forest Akers East Golf Course at Michigan State University Saturday.
Emily White shot a 76 to pace the Hornets, who finished with a two-day score of 708, good for seventh best at the championship tournament. Saline was ninth after opening day after shooting a 360. Plymouth captured the tournament with a two day total of 659.
Junior Emily White finished sixth overall with a two day score of 157. She shaved five strokes off her opening round score of 81.
Stacy Cruze bounced back from a tough opening day to shoot 88. She finished with a two-day total of 190.
Freshman Samantha Kellstrom, who opened the tournament with a 79, shot an 89 on the second day, to finished with a score of 168, second best among Saline golfers. Louisa Antonelli improved by five strokes to finish with a 95. Lauren Rasmussen trimmed two strokes off her score and finished with a 98.
