Deadline to Participate in Downtown Veteran Banner Project is Oct. 1

Saline Main Street is proud to bring back its Military and Veteran Banner Project to Downtown Saline for Veterans Day 2020. This lamp post banner program recognizes Saline’s locally affiliated service members and families who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.

The downtown group invites the public to participate by dedicating a banner to someone special. Each banner is double-sided, full-color and custom-designed with the image and name of an honoree, her/his/their military branch and dates of service or war/conflict. These beautiful banners are designated to be hung throughout Downtown Saline to commemorate Veterans Day. Upon removal, the banners may be returned to the purchaser or can be chosen to remain in Saline Main Street’s care for re-hanging in the future.

To qualify for the Military and Veteran Banner Program, the honoree must be an active duty member of the United States Armed Forces, have been honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces, or died in the line of duty.

Cost to purchase a banner is $100. The application submission deadline for installation this fall is October 1, 2020.
