Diana Elizabeth Simko, age 76, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.

She was born on January 4, 1944 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Bela J. and Barbara M. (Komaroni) Simko. Diana attended Christ the Good Shepherd elementary school in Lincoln Park, Michigan and Rosary High School in Detroit, Michigan.  Most of her life was spent in Michigan but as a young adult she resided in Arizona and California as well.

A free spirit, she loved being around and helping people and pursued a career around that, working as a cosmetologist and Montessori child care provider.  She also worked as a nurse's assistant for many years at Wyandotte Hospital.  With a deep commitment to spiritual growth she attended the Golden Lotus/Song of the Morning retreat for many years. Singing, art projects, clever and unexpected gifts during the holidays, and a love for family gatherings are what family and friends fondly recall when they think about Diana.

What many don't know is that Diana listened to "Coast to Coast AM", a late-night radio talk show about UFOs & paranormal information every single night. Happy, kind, loving, compassionate, and gentle are but a few adjectives that describe Diana.

Throughout her entire life she maintained a positive outlook and appreciated every single day.

Survivors include her brothers Bela “Budd” Simko, David Simko (Barbara), her sister Sandra Blair, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, she was deeply loved and her bright spirit will be missed by many. A Memorial Service will be held in the future. To leave a memory you have of Diana, to sign her guestbook, or for more information please visit www.rbfhsaline.com.
