The SEC Red will have seven members next season - the first time the conference has changed since Skyline and Monroe joined the conference in 2009.
Ypsilanti is leaving the SEC White, which had swollen to eight teams with the addition of Pinckney and Jackson, and moving to the Red division.
Both divisions will now have seven teams. Ypsilanti joins Saline, Skyline, Pioneer, Huron, Bedford and Monroe in the Red division. Chelsea, Dexter, Jackson, Pinckney, Tecumeh, Lincoln and Adrian will compete in the White Division.
For the football team, that means one less non-conference game.
Here's what the varsity schedule looks like next season (bold denotes SEC Red games):
The Hornets have a 7-0 record against Ypsilanti.
The Hornets haven't lost a game to an SEC Red opponent since 2013 and have won six straight SEC Red championships.
