Steven Scott Russell, age 70, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019 after a short illness.
He was born in Ann Arbor, on August 6, 1949. He married Janet Charlton on September 26, 1970, and she survives.
Steven was known for being a car nut, and to the family, was known as the car whisperer. Whether you needed your car fixed or were looking for a new one, Steven was your first call, having had 33 cars in his lifetime. He worked in the automotive industry at Federal Mogul for 33 years as a lab manager, while concurrently earning his Master's Degree from Eastern Michigan University in the field of Industrial Technology.
Subsequently, he worked in Quality Control at Climax Research, JAYTEC, and most recently at NSF Corp. He really enjoyed golfing, weight lifting, tennis, his German Shepherds, and one crazy cat. He was also a Life Member of the NRA, an NRA training counselor, a lifelong conservative, and a member of Washtenaw 100. He will be missed.
Survivors also include his sisters Mary (Jeff) Bush, Linda Russell (Gary Taylor), aunts and uncles Barbara and Frank Mayfield, Bob and Nancy Cole, and all of his many cousins. He is also survived by his in-laws Linda Wade, Kathy Green, Bill and Sharon Charlton, Ed and Nancy Charlton, and the brat nieces and nephews, Bree (Don), Christy (John), Jodi (Josh), Billy, Michelle (Wade), David, Amanda (Andy), Ella, and adorable grand-nieces and nephews, Daniel, Rose, Kate, Russell, and Oliver.
