The Saline High School Marching Band earned top marks for an outstanding performance at the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association festival at Westland John Glenn High School Monday.
The band received an overall rating of "1," and "Superior" from the panel of three judges. The band was evaluated on music, marching fundamentals, overall presentation and general effect.
There are 197 members of the marching band. They are led by Director Nate Lampman, assistant directors Ben Reed and Scott Cannell, colorguard instructor Jessica McDonald, drumline instructor Dan Parker, and majorette instructor Susan Usher.
Michael Lance and Holden Collins are the drum majors.
Section leaders are Cameron Tressler, Ainsley Caldwell, Josh VerWoert, Lucas Schultz, Faith Sweet, Cameron Crawford, Danae Jarrett, Megan Czczypka, Max Schneider, Jason Landini, Leah Keller, Savannah Harris, Zach Gabanyicz and Chris Hays.
