On Wednesday, August 15, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin its annual roadside herbicide spraying program in Lodi, Pittsfield, Ypsilanti, York and Augusta Townships. The program will take approximately two weeks to complete.
Specifically trained, licensed and experienced professionals will selectively apply the herbicides to specific vegetation that could create a driving hazard along the roadside.
The operation is not a continuous broadcast spray – only roadside areas where existing brush and limbs near the roadway will be sprayed. This spot spraying along local (non-subdivision roads) and primary roads is done on a rotating basis in one-quarter of the county late each summer.
Property owners who would rather not have brush sprayed along the roadside of their property must clear brush and limbs along the roadside at minimum fourteen feet up and fourteen feet away from the edge of the road immediately. For more details about opting out of the herbicide spraying program, contact WCRC (see contact information below).

Is there something wrong with the current setup?
The fire department is receiving hundreds of thousands if not over a million in new equipment in conjunction with the data center project. Would think that save would have freed money at some point in the budget projections. More to the point, we have heard the Fire Chief speak two or three times now.
