Saline Summerfest opened under sunny skies and drew a large crowd to downtown Saline Friday.
The two-day festival, which continues Saturday, began an arts and craft show, performances by Dance Alliance dancers and the Saline Twirlettes, and rock and pop cover tunes by Atomic Radio.
Revelers dined on pizza, barbecue from Smokehouse 52 and burgers from Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burgers.
Mayor Brian Marl took the stage before Atomic Radio. He thanked the volunteers who organized and staffed the event. He encouraged everyone to have fun and invited everyone back to Saline Saturday - when Summerfest kicks into high gear.
