In the market for a new Ford? Always wanted to drive a Mustang? Would you like to help raise $6,000 to support music in Saline Area Schools without reaching for your checkbook or wallet?

Then you’d probably like to test drive a Ford at the Drive One 4UR School event held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Harvest Elementary School.

Briarwood Ford is providing a fleet of new cars and Ford Motor Company will play $20 to the Saline Music Boosters for each 10-minute test drive. The event can raise up to $6,000 for the Saline Music Boosters.

Briarwood Ford Co-Owner Steve Whitener, a long-time supporter of Saline school music programs, said it’s a “no-hassle” test drive event. Briarwood sales staff are there to answer questions, but they let the test drive do the talking and do not exert any pressure on participants.

Money raised will help the Saline Music Boosters with its mission, which is to support Saline Area Schools bands, orchestras and choir programs from 5th to 12th grades. The boosters fund trips, bring in guest instructors, purchase music, fund camp scholarships and much more.
