The Saline varsity Field Hockey team defeated Marian 2-1 Monday to improve to 3-1 on the season.
In a battle of two good teams, Saline struck first. Shannon Reilly set up Bridget Skelly for a goal with 16 minutes left in the half. Marian tied the game with two minutes to play in the half.
Saline scored the game-winning goal five minutes into the second half when Sierra Hazard set up Hannah Jarvie for the goal
Saline goalie Keerthana Akella made nine saves including a key stop with just 10 seconds left in the contest.
Saline pulled out the victory despite Marian having the advantage of playing on their grass homefield.
Saline has now won two straight.
Saline bounced back from their 5-1 loss at Huron with an 8-0 victory against Academy of the Sacred Heart Saturday.
Shannon Reilly, Hannah Jarvie and Emily Maloney each scored two goals for Saline. Erin Reilly and Sierra Hazard each scored once.
The Hornets visit Ladywood on Wednesday.

Perhaps we are missing something here? The decision to not find a reasonable accommodation to interview Kelley seems short sighted and contrary to ensuring the best interests of the schools and our children are given top priority.

Sometimes I feel like the some members of the board views this more as a corporation than a community. I understand that Saline Schools are large, but when everything is approached with a big-business, corporate mindset, it starts to lose that sense of connection.
