Saline Salutes Most Dedicated Volunteers

The community recognized its most dedicated volunteers at the Saline Salutes banquet at Saline High School Friday night.

Jeff Dowling, Citizen of the Year, Joy Ely, Lifetime Achievement Award. Helen Martin, George A. Anderson Vision Award, and Sarah Chu, Youth of the Year, were honored at the annual banquet, sponsored by the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce.

Government officials from Saline City Council, Saline School Board, and the Michigan Legislature were on hand to help recognize the honorees in the ceremony in the Ellen A. Ewing Performing Arts Center.

Prior to the ceremony, family, friends and members of the community joined the honorees for a prime rib dinner prepared by students in the award-winning Saline High School culinary arts program as students from the top rated Saline High School jazz band performed.
