Shelving, tables, rotisserie ovens, meat slicers, sinks, signs and shopping carts are among the items being sold by BLM Fixture Finders at the home of Commons at Sauk Trail Shopping Center (Industrial Drive and Michigan Avenue). All but a few goods are from Country Market, which closed in June.
“There are good deals here for people who own a small restaurant or catering business. It’s also something that can be used by people who have a serious kitchen,” said BLM Fixture Finders owner Brian Myers, before helping to load a table into the pickup truck of a hunter purchasing equipment for processing deer meat.
Dave Hoek, who was helping Myers with the sale, said the customers he talked to were unhappy about the closure of Country Market.
“A lot of people blame Wal-Mart for this,” Hoek said, looking over the empty store. “You see a lot of these sales in towns after a Wal-Mart opens.”
The sale continues until Aug. 28.
