The Area Agency on Aging 1-B is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a new name and a new logo!
The agency has rebranded as AgeWays, because the name reflects what the agency does: Help older adults age in the ways they choose and give tools to family caregivers to support those choices.
AgeWays offers resources, services, and programs ranging from respite care to homebound meals to transportation and Medicare counseling for residents in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair and Washtenaw counties.
AgeWays also advocates for older adults, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers on the local, state, and federal levels. The team works with elected officials to bolster home-based services for lower income adults, to boost pay for home health aides, to support family caregivers with respite programs, and to address many other issues important to the people we serve.
To learn more AgeWays programs, call 800-852-7795, a number that remains as a trusted source of information for older adults and caregivers.
AgeWays website address is now AgeWays.org and email addresses end with ageways.org (for example, jsmith@ageways.org).
