Losing one’s life while tending to a Great Lakes lighthouse wasn’t such an unusual occurrence, as the likelihood of drowning at sea or dying from work-related injuries were common back in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Join Dianna Higgs Stampfler for a Zoom presentation on her new book, Death & Lighthouses of the Great Lakes: A History of Misfortune & Murder, and hear tales of true crime and the untimely deaths of those brave souls who lost their lives guarding our great shores.
