As part of our “All Together Now” summer theme, we’ll be hosting a tiny art show. Be part of our hive with these hexagon mini canvases!
To participate, pick up one of our kits, which includes the canvas and display easel. “Bee” yourself and decorate as desired with supplies from home (paint, paper, fabric, mixed media, anything goes!) and return the completed (and dry) piece of art to the adult reference desk by Friday, July 21. Please be sure to write your name on the back of the artwork and turn in the enclosed contact slip with it, so we can return the art to you at the end of summer. Canvases will be on display in the library throughout August.
Stop by the front desk to pick up a kit.

Sunny, with a high of 36 and low of 16 degrees. Sunny in the morning, overcast for the afternoon, clear in the evening,
I have to commend the Saline City manager and engineer for keeping their cool and for their professionalism during the three hour Mill Pond Dam town hall meeting.
I think what's insulting is that the city is bloating the numbers to bolster their case.
Logically, the dam has no practical use. Of course, it's going to cost more. Of course, there's a level of risk there. Of course, over some period of time, it's going to cost more to maintain than a stream.
Life cycle cost analysis is certainly appropriate when considering new assets, but it may not be as appropriate when evaluating existing assets.
