As we celebrate the emancipation of the last enslaved people in 1865, let us remember that freedom from bondage alone is not equity. Join Brandan Freeman (Founder of “Shades of the Outdoors: A BIPOC Outdoor Enthusiast Community) as he discusses how the outdoors was structured to exclude people of color and presents the illustration of BIPOC engagement with the outdoors as a continuation of the march toward Civil Rights. Refreshments and lawn games will be provided as well.
This event will be held on the lawn South of the library near the Leslie Niethammer Memorial Trail.
No registration is required.

Partly Cloudy , with a high of 88 and low of 67 degrees. Sunny in the morning, fog overnight.
