Get ready to sham-rock your taste buds at Salt Springs Brewery’s 6th Pairing Dinner: the St. Patty’s Day Pairing Extravaganza! Join us on Monday, March 17th at 6pm for an unforgettable evening of Irish-inspired culinary mastery, crafted by the one-and-only Executive Chef Loren Halprin. We’re pulling out all the stops to bring you a five-course feast paired with exceptional brews and cocktails that’ll have you feeling the luck of the Irish!
Kick things off with our First Course: Drunken Mussels swimming in a whiskey-kissed broth of garlic, shallots, tomatoes, and herbs, served with crusty potato bread to soak up every drop. Paired with a Bloody Derby — a bold rye whiskey twist on our house-made bloody mary — this opener will have you raising a glass to the Emerald Isle.
For the Second Course, savor a golden Boxty, a traditional Irish potato pancake topped with house-smoked salmon, a dollop of crème fraîche, and a sprinkle of chives. Sip alongside a crisp, dry Chardonnay from Fenn Valley, and let the flavors dance a jig on your palate.
The Third Course brings a St. Patty’s classic: Corned Beef & Cabbage, elevated with tender new potatoes, sweet pearl onions, and carrots. Paired with The Old Miner, a robust 6% British ESB ale, this dish is hearty, soul-warming, and oh-so-satisfying.
Next up, the Fourth Course delivers a Shepherd’s Pie that’s pure comfort in a bowl — succulent Vestergaard lamb, rich gravy, peas, and carrots, all crowned with whipped potatoes. The Orange Surveyor cocktail, blending rye whiskey, stout syrup, and orange-chocolate bitters, adds a playful, bittersweet twist to this savory star.
Finally, indulge in the Fifth Course: Bread Pudding made with Irish soda bread and drizzled with Salt Paddy’s crème anglaise. Paired with our Salt Paddy’s Stout — a dry, 5% Irish ale — this dessert is the pot of gold at the end of your dining rainbow.
Grab your friends, don your green, and join us at Salt Springs Brewery for a St. Patty’s Day celebration that’s equal parts delicious and downright fun. Tickets are limited, so secure your spot for this festive feast before they vanish like a leprechaun’s gold! Sláinte!

Best burger goes to Droptop pizza. No doubt about it . Dan’s is not what it used to be and the food is not award worthy. Need some new judges.
It's a voting thing, not a judging thing.
Dan's burger has never treated me wrong. And I like the DropTop burger too.I would never put down someone else's burger, though. I might say someone else has a better one.
Like, I like the Jet's Pizza. But to me, that's a DropTop prize.
These awards are voted by the PEOPLE...not a committee of judges. The people of Saline and Saline area voted for these businesses. I have never had a bad meal at Dan's Downtown Tavern and if something wasn't right I know that it would be corrected. Plus I have had Drop Tops pizza and I found it to be quite good.
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 66 and low of 52 degrees. Partly Cloudy in the morning, sunny in the afternoon, clear in the evening, overcast overnight.

While I have some empathy for the family I would bet the proverbial farm that their ancestors would not like it to be rezoned. Disappearing farm land is a national problem not just local.
Agreed. It’s their land and can do as they wish but it’s just a bummer
You all have absolutely lost your collective minds! Fiscal insanity.
Love the idea and could absolutely see this treasure becoming a multi-use facility for the city. Not sure how I would approach it were I the owner but I believe the current owners inherited the house (could be wrong) after being in the family for many years.
Curious as to current status of the second smaller home built in the same style. Is that currently owned by the same family and part of this discussion?
Ha! Such a lovely face I’m making! 😆
